From experience
Notes from shooting real product photos
- Shadows count as background - if the product sits directly on a surface, the model often clips the contact shadow, so lift the item slightly when shooting.
- Reflective and transparent products (glass, acrylic) are the hard case: keep the High precision model and shoot against a matte, contrasting backdrop.
- For marketplace listings, export transparent then composite on pure #FFFFFF - that reads cleaner than removing straight to white.
- Thin straps, chains and handles need the High precision model; the Fast model tends to eat them.
