Transparent PNG Maker Real alpha, not white
Turn any image into a true transparent PNG. The background is removed to a real alpha channel - not painted white - so the result layers cleanly in any editor, deck or website.

Why use BackgroundRemover for this
- Outputs a real alpha channel, so transparency survives in Figma, Canva and PowerPoint
- Works on products, people, logos, icons and objects
- PNG download keeps full transparency (JPG cannot)
- Free, unlimited, no sign-up and no watermark
- Processed in your browser - the image is never uploaded
How to do it
- 1
Upload any image
Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP. The clearer the subject stands out, the cleaner the cut.
- 2
Remove the background
The subject is isolated and everything behind it becomes transparent.
- 3
Download the PNG
Save as PNG to keep the transparency. Open it on any background to confirm the alpha.
Why PNG, and what to watch for
- Only PNG (and WebP) keep transparency. If you export to JPG, the transparent areas fill with white - that is a JPG limitation, not the tool.
- Check the result on both a light and a dark background; faint halo edges only show up against one of them.
- Semi-transparent areas like glass or smoke get a partial alpha, which is correct - they should not be fully opaque.
- For crisp icons and line art, the High Precision model avoids the soft, feathered edge that Fast Processing leaves.
